Is your stock Polaris Slingshot clutch slipping? Do you have a built engine and find that it is just too powerful for the stock clutch? No matter the reason, if your clutch is slipping you need a clutch with more holding power. The DDM 2.4L performance clutch for the Polaris Slingshot is designed to significantly increase your clutch holding power. DDM has designed a clutch that is rated to up to 450 ft/lbs of torque. Compare that to the stock clutch that starts to slip just over 250ft/lbs of torque and you can see why the DDM clutch is necessary for higher horsepower engines.
DDM tested several Slingshot clutch systems and found that none of them were up to their specifications. They decided the only way they could get a Slingshot clutch that had the holding power they were looking for was to work with some of the industry’s leading clutch designers and build one of their own. The final product is a clutch that they could be proud of and put their reputation behind. The clutch features a unique design; a flat flywheel with the pressure plate coming to meet it. This contrasts the stock flywheel design which is much deeper and the pressure plates are much thinner.
In addition to the holding power gained from the DDM Clutch/Flywheel set up, you will also be shaving off 40% of the weight of your stock clutch. Because of the unique design, the aluminum flywheel, pressure plate and clutch disc only weigh 22 lbs.
Install does require special tools and specific knowledge not possessed by your typical customer. It is recommended to have the clutch professionally installed. A 1.125" 26 tooth clutch alignment tool is required. You can pick a tool up on your own or add one to your order.
Option Install Kit - Install kit inlcudes new flywheel bolts, GM slave cylinder, and a new pilot bearing which are all recommended to be changed when the new clutch is installed.
