Product Overview
All surfaces of a matte lighter are characterized with solid, flat color-- free of shine, shimmer or gloss. Matte lighters are produced using a powder coat. The coating is then lasered off the hinge and bottom of the lighter to reveal the bottom stamp. The first matte lighter, which was black, was introduced into Zippo's stock line in 1984. Today, there are several colors available: red, orange, green, yellow, white, blue and pink.
